Quartz Watch
Battery-powered movement
01
What is a quartz watch?
Quartz watches are powered by a battery and regulated by a vibrating quartz crystal. They are highly accurate and do not need winding.

04
When to replace the battery
Most batteries last 1–3 years. Replace promptly when the watch stops, as a leaking old battery can damage the movement.
05
Why a seconds hand may jump every few seconds
An End-of-Life indicator: when the seconds hand jumps in 2–4 second steps instead of ticking each second, the battery is nearly empty and should be replaced.
06
Water resistance warning
After any battery change, have water resistance re-tested. The case gaskets are disturbed when the back is opened.
